Joey Fields
President
As the President of Advanced Stimulation Technologies, Inc. Joey Fields has been contributing his expertise for the past 6 years to improve operations and drive company growth. His unique ability to establish a rapport with his management team, as well as his long-term vision has allowed Advanced Stimulation Technologies, Inc. to increase profitability. Over the years, Joey has worked with a diverse range of clients across various industries. His ability to understand complex problems and provide innovative solutions has earned him the reputation of being a trusted leader. Joey has 45+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry serving as a Purchasing Agent, Sales Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President, and President has built his natural leadership skills as well as creative thought process to generate new strategies for improving project performance. He has actively participated in numerous profitable acquisitions. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated an exceptional level of expertise, dedication, and passion for his work. Despite his impressive achievements, Joey remains humble, approachable, and always eager to learn. His insatiable curiosity and adaptability have allowed him to stay ahead of the curve embracing emerging trends and technologies. When not immersed in work, Joey enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, and watching Football. This well-rounded approach to life not only enhances his creativity and problem-solving skills but also allows him to forge meaningful connections with colleagues and clients.
Jordan Frosch
Senior VP of Operations
Jordan joined AST in February of 2022 and serves as the Vice President of Business Development. Jordan directs sales, marketing, and customer interactions. Jordan brings 13 years of oilfield experience, beginning at Key Energy in 2010. Prior to AST, he served as Vice President of Business Development at ProPetro from 2012 – 2020 and Permian Basin Completions Sales Manager at Imperative Chemicals. He earned his degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University at the Everett Dobson School of Business while playing basketball for the Bulldogs.
Christian Castro
VP of Frac Operations
Christian Castro has served as Vice President of Frac Operations at AST since February 2024. With over 16 years in the oil and gas industry, his expertise embodies a comprehension of building strong customer relations, maximizing operation performances and supporting the company to reach its goals. Before joining AST Christian worked as a Frac Completion Specialist for Endeavor Energy Resources which has helped him to gain the knowledge to effectively manage areas of operations, supply chain, and safety. Christian received a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from Texas Tech University. Christian enjoys spending time with his family, and friends and has a love for watching sports.
Garrett Hallman
VP of Maintenance and Facilities
Garrett joined AST in 2014 and has served as Vice President of Operations since February 2022. Previously he has served as District Engineer and Operations Manager. Garrett brings over 12 years of oilfield experience to AST. Garrett directs operations, maintenance, procurement, logistics, and engineering. He has helped onboard several new technologies and equipment that has kept AST in the competitive OFS market. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Michael Thompson
VP of Engineering and Technology
Tech enthusiast Michael Thompson serves as the Vice President of Engineering and Technology at AST. Michael's role is centered around driving innovation through process improvement. His expertise spans from general field operations to AST’s core system architecture. The main goal underpinning his efforts is customer satisfaction; ensuring that every innovation not only advances AST's capabilities, but also delivers tangible benefits directly and indirectly to clients. Prior to joining AST, Michael quickly rose the ranks from Field Engineer to District Engineer at Basic Energy Services from 2018-2020. Always keeping an eye towards harnessing new technologies, he gained invaluable knowledge of field operations, cost analysis (ie. Fraceconomics), and customer relations. After graduating from Texas Tech with his Chemical Engineering degree, Michael continued to study Computer Science due to a lifelong passion and interest. He has since developed proficiencies in web development to create unique solutions for the ever-evolving landscape of the oil and gas industry. With a pending patent regarding data collection and viewing, Michael continues to expand his record of improving economics for customers through optimized data sharing and visualization. Originally from Colorado, Michael enjoys spending time with friends and family. In his free time, he can usually be found on winter trips to Colorado’s mountains or a summer trip to one of the many lakes Texas has to offer.
Marselo Barriga
VP of Auxiliary Operations
Mr. Barriga joined AST in July 2020. He has more than 30 years’ experience working in the oilfield service industry in a variety of executive, management, operational, technical, and sales roles. Most recently, Mr. Barriga was the General Manager of Titan PetroServices, a coil tubing services company that provided seven service lines revolving around the coil tubing industry in the Permian Basin. Previously, Marselo served as US Completions Product Line Manager for Smith International where he was responsible for the domestic operations of 27 districts across the US. Marselo started his career working at Phillips Petroleum in 1991. In 1994, he began a 13-year stint at Cudd Energy Services advancing to various management roles.
